What do we do about the apps?

Swimming, swimming, keep on swimming.

I’m currently in Boston for the night, and tomorrow I head to Maine.

At the airport, I was left by two Lyft drivers. You see, Lyft doesn’t go to the Lyft signs because the airport changed some policy. So you book a car, follow the instructions, and then the driver wonders where you are. You try to notify Lyft, but they only accept feedback in the form of pre-written blurbs. And so, yes, society is crumbling. But we must stop the collapse. I believe we can. Surely.

I kept wanting to throw my hands up, but I encountered a few very nice and helpful city workers who went out of their way to help me and wouldn’t accept any cash.

And so I believe humans are worth saving, and some want to help. We must do something about the apps tho!

Back in Texas

  Well, I’m back in Texas at my house after a few months away. I went to Chicago, then Boston very briefly on my way to Portland ME, then Nashua, then Ithaca, then I stopped over in Chicago again before coming back to my house. Politics

I was really into punk rock music in high school. As such, I was extremely interested in politics at a young age. Eventually, I deduced that politics was a sewer, and I quit paying attention (while I was still too young to vote). Then, however, George W. Bush was elected, and I was like, “Somebody better do something!” Nobody did. Instead, the folks who elected Bush learned _nothing_, and they proceeded to elect Trump. Now, we’ve got Trump running again against Joe Biden, who was running back when Bush was in office (and I think once before that, too). My first blog entry was back in early 2003, and it was indirectly about politics (I just remembered I wrote a few posts before that, but I digress). Now, over 20 years later, we’re dealing with the same nonsense with no end in sight, and the country is in worse shape. The key

  Originally, I wanted to title this post “Never surrender,” because that is a song lyric I like to sing. It’s also my preferred way of saying “Don’t give up!” However, I’m superstitious, so I hesitate before saying things like always and never.  T hat said, I staunchly believe too many people sell themselves short too often. I forget exactly where I was going with this. I know this happens pretty often, that I lose my train of thought, but the reality is not so much about strokes. While I admit strokes have certainly impaired my memory, I lose my train of thought while writing here because I type slowly with one finger on an iphone screen. 🤷‍♂️ I’d editorialize here, but I feel that’s inauthentic.
