Repetition
As part of my recovery, I am doing my best to leave no stone unturned. As Encyclopedia Brown advertised, “No Job Too Big or Small.” And as a yoga teacher I used to LOVE would say, “The way you do one thing is the way you do everything.” (I actually don’t think that’s true, but I like the sentiment.)
Anyway, with regard to recovering, I want to be thorough. I mention this because I’m back in the airport(s) today, after about 5 months, and I notice that my eyesight is far better now. During this time, I’ve stopped wearing glasses, after going through many pairs. The cynic in me says I must have not needed those, but I originally got glasses so I could read—at which time I could, only with glasses. At the airport, I notice that I can now see much more of the world around me (aka the terminal).
And so my eyes still show me a lot of blur and a lot of doubling. However, the two images appear much closer now, which sometimes gives me a worse image. Moreover, an eye doctor at Boston Vision explained the problem to me: basically, my visual acuity isn’t terrible, but it’s not stable. As soon as they find “my” prescription, my eye moves. The good thing this tells me is that I don’t have paralysis. The challenge is that there’s not an optical fix. However, knowledge is power, and it’s extremely valuable to know what not to try.
Anyway, I gotta put my phone in airplane mode. Who knows what I was gonna say anyway.
